MMA News: Fedor Emelianenko vs Fabricio Werdum Pushed Back To May
M1-Global held a press conference
today headed by company president Vadim Finklestein where he announced that a bout between the world’s top ranked heavyweight fighter Fedor ‘The Last Emperor’ Emelianenko (32-1-0) and top Brazilian heavyweight Fabricio Werdum (13-4-1) has been rescheduled to sometime in May. Unfortunately a rough translation from the original Russian article does not offer any additional details, but a statement from Strikeforce is expected to follow in the near future now that the main event has been canceled for their anticipated April 24th event.Strikeforce definitely has enough talent to proceed with the event as it was just announced that Dan ‘Hollywood’ Henderson (25-7-0) would be taking on current champion Jake Shields (24-4-1) for the middleweight strap at the April event which is also expected to feature fan favorite Gina Carano (7-1-0) taking on a fighter yet to be named, along with Gegard ‘The Dreamcatcher’ Mousasi (28-2-1) defending his light heavyweight title against the undefeated Mohammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal (6-0-0). Though no official announcement has been made it would seem that Strikeforce believes they can double-down by splitting this monster card into two events, perhaps moving one of the championship bouts back to the May date alongside Fedor/Fabricio to balance out the top action. With less than two months remaining until the expected April 24th event Strikeforce has been surprisingly quiet about the event details as the entire focus of the promotion seems to be on tomorrow night’s CHALLENGERS event that provides a forum for up-and-coming talent to gain national exposure very similar to UFC’s Fight Night format. FightScoops is awaiting a response from the Strikeforce media representative that will hopefully provide some answers to the many questions surrounding these events.

UFC 113 Lyoto vs Shogun 2
Lyoto Machida vs Shogun Rua 2 - "I think Machida will come in prepared this time around. I think he and his team knows what Rua will deliver. Machida will win in May, The rematch favors Machida alot more then Rua. Rua has the perfect plan to win that fight, and now Machida knows what it is. I'm sure Rua will change some things up knowing the he has been found out, but I'm sure Machida will have an answer."
UFC 111 Predictions
Georges St. Pierre vs Dan Hardy - "Dan Hardy has nothing for St. Pierre no matter how you slice it imo UFC is running out of time and they don't have nothing to offer St. Pierre in the welterweight division. The only threat Hardy really has is his power which St. Pierre has fought before. Hardy could pull off the upset if he lands a big huge bomb because St. Pierre has been caught before, but I really don't see that happening i'm giving this one to GSP."
Frank Mir vs Shane Carwin - "I only see this fight going 3 ways, mir by submission or carwin by K.O or TKO. I'm sticking with carwin cause I think hes better then most people think. Mir's boxing is underrated but I still don't think he can top carwin's, Mir is able to pull upsets but carwin has too much momentum coming into this fight, I'm giving this one to Carwin."
Jon Fitch vs Thiago Alves - "Thiago really want's this fight especially after a decision loss in Fitch vs Alves 1. Thiago is a tough guy but so is Fitch. i'm going for Fitch to do even better this time maybe a KO."

UFC Live Vera vs Jones
UFC Live Predictions.
Brandon Vera vs Jon Jones - "A very dynamic fight, Someone's definately getting knocked out in this fight, These 2 guys love to strike but I believe Jon Jones has way too much momentum coming into this fight. Vera will be thrown off from Jon Jones awkward style, And I haven't been very impressed with vera's fight lately. Jon Jones for the win."
Junior Dos Santos vs Gabriel Gonzaga - "I tell you something, JDS may have an ugly fighting style but this kid is dangerous as hell. don't know why the UFC is constantly giving Gonzaga great matches. He's already lost a lot of fights already. Yet he keeps getting the opportunity to fight quality opponents! Gonzaga really isn't that great! Couture beat him, Werdum beat him twice, Carwin beat him! And impretty sure he's gonna get beat by Junior dos santos as well! A fighter like Gonzaga should fight guys like Ben rothwell! He's a more closer opponent in terms of skill level! I give this one to Junior Dos Santos."
Chieck Kongo vs Paul Buentello - "This fight depends on how much Kongo's takedown defense has improved. Considering Paul's grappling has gotten a lot better. This one i'm going with kongo but I think it will go to decision"
Alessio Sakara vs James Irvin - "two guys that like to use their fist, it should be an exciting standup war. Alessio coming off a huge win off of Thales Leites which he was booted out of the UFC but was a top contender at one point, James Irvin coming off a loss to Anderson Silva which was quite a long time ago. Alessio doesn't seem to have 1 punch power like James, And James is the much bigger and stronger fighter. I'm going with James on this one by KO."
Spencer Fisher vs Duane Ludwig - "I don't know anything about fisher but he has to be a favorite. But I like Ludwig in this Fight he's a lot better than people give him credit for i'll say hell beat spencer by KO."
Clay Guida vs Shannon Gugerty - "Man I love watching Guida's fights! I think Clay should win this one with Clay wrestling him to death, same way he win's all of his fights!."
